BULLETIN 9th July 2006

Congratulations!

Albert OutaAlbert Outa first ever came to the Nairobi Chapel as a high school student, and joined the worship team to play the keyboard. Even at that age 2 things struck you about Albert,  first was his giftedness at music, and secondly was his hunger for God.  He hung around the Chapel, eager to be of what service he could be, eager to be involved and we soon recognized this was indeed a young man set apart for the Lord.

Thru his University years he became involved in, and eventually served as the leader of, SALT, our university fellowship. Albo is exceptionally gifted at working with young people.
After graduating from Uni. (Mechanical Engineering) he then joined the internship (2001), at the end of which we awarded him a scholarship to NEGST. He graduated yesterday with a Masters of Divinity.

Eda EsilabaEda, who accepted the Lord as her Savior at age 8, joined our internship 3 yrs ago after completing her studies at JKUAT (Botany). She quickly proved her gift in working with young people, and on completion of her internship, was also awarded our scholarship to study at NEGST. She graduated yesterday with a Masters of Arts in Christian Education.

The two met while interns at Chapel and got married last year (you see - good things happen on the internship). Both Albo and Eda have an independent calling to the Lord service, and we celebrate that we can have them as a ministering couple on staff with us.

However their preparation is not completely over. As our students graduate we have been trying to place them in church service overseas for 1 year to expose them to new paradigms and contexts. Elmbrook church is presently discussing having Albo and Eda join them for that year of exposure. Albo would then work under Pastor Jason with the Young Adults, while Eda would work in the Teens Ministry. Plans are not confirmed yet but they may be with us for only a short while before they leave.

After that one year they will rejoin our pastoral staff here at Ngong Rd.

Today we want to celebrate God gift to us in giving us two such special people.

Announcements

Fast Unto The Lord : Last week of July (23rd to 29th). Please set aside one or more days as a fast and prayer time for our land. We hope to engage the Govt again on the matter of our land, so please cover it with prayer. While the Honorable Kalonzo Musyoka was Minister for Environment, we covered a lot of ground on the issue, and though the matter was finally settled. But with the ODM/ Referendum matters last year, he was dropped from government, and our progress on the matter seemed to have fallen by the wayside. Pray that the matter would be settled in our favor, and that we will not have to start from scratch again, and that Honorable Kibutha Kibwana will recognize the progress made by his predecessor.

Please pray thru July about our Land : In addition to the fast during the last week of July, could you please set aside the rest of the month for concerted prayer about the Land? Spend 10 or more minutes each day praying about it.

Prayer Morning : Saturday July 29th - come join others on that morning 8 am - 12 pm to break our fast with communal prayer. Let our joint cry of prayer rise up before the Lord's throne, asking him for a breakthrough.

Kids Camp : Parents and children enter into your diary the 2006 August school holiday day camp dates happening at the Nbi Chapel Impala club for ages 6 to 11 years. August 8th to 12th.
