In response to the crisis in the North Eastern Province, Defence for Children International Kenya an affiliate of Defence for Children International Geneva partnered with Shelter Box UK to provide the displaced accommodation tents.
Shelter Box airlifted to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport 200 shelter Box kits as an advance consignment of 6000 shelter kits in May 2006 valued at USD 120,000.
Despite this being a donation on Humanitarian grounds, we are expected to pay duty of USD 30,000 on or before the 14th of this month failure to which the shelter kit tents will be auctioned within 21 days .we hope to beat this deadline
We are therefore appealing for any members who would want to be partners with Defence for Children International Kenya in this very noble venture to get in touch with either Janet or Phyllis on telephone contacts for further details
