BEHOLD YOUR GOD

Welcome to our first and new sermon series for this year. Over the next 8 weeks we will look at 8 names of God  an exciting study as we “Behold Our God”. Today we begin with the most frequently used name in the bible “Elohim”, and over the next 2 months will study other names like El-Shaddai, El-Rohi, Adonai, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah M'kaddesh, Jehovah Nissi, and Jehovah Jirah. Each of these studies will be practical and focused on enabling us to see how God's name, which reflects his character, is practical and applicable to my faith. Invite your friends to come and learn about God.

Our services will also be somewhat different  shorter (about 1 hr 30 mins), and more creative as we now have a team (Mwaniki Mageria, Rose Muiu, Faith Mugera, Martha Lee, Mark Kioko, Lucy Kyama, Alvan, Pst Kyama, Albo, Susan Walutila, Mark Njoroge and myself) thinking through and planning the specifics.

Each week we also have an inductive bible study for you to take home as you look deeper into the Word of God (we cannot cover all there is to learn on any one specific name during our half-hour Sunday sermon). Please purchase a copy of this study at the Info desk (cost of photocopying only).The study is formatted for 20  30 minutes daily devotions for 4 days of the week. It will explore each name of God much deeper.

DVD's on Sale: At the same time 3 of our Young Adult members (who have just started their own video recording company) have offered to record the sermons on Digital Video, and to make a DVD copy of the 4 sermons per month available for purchase at the info table on the first Sunday of each new month. They are doing this as a free service to the church, and the cost of the DVD will be at cost (not for profit). You could therefore choose to wait for that instead. Praise the Lord for such innovative use of their gifts. I'd like us to bless them as they bless God's work, so if you have Video recording needs (wedding, funeral, special event, birthday party, etc), would you consider hiring them first? As you will see their work is very professional. Pick up a card from their representative at the Info Table. You can also get a free copy on email upon leaving your address on the same table.

Graphic Designer: Now that we are in the new year, do you need to spruce up your letterheads, business cards, etc? Our bulletins, banners, brochures, and all publicity materials over the last 3 months have been designed by a young man in our congregation who is looking for a job. Please support him by directing your design work to him as he tries to freelance and generate an income. He is very gifted and is available to serve you at your office and at your convenience.  Presently he does all our chapel work free of charge in  exchange for using our design computer, goodwill and resources to freelance.
