BULLETIN 15th Jan 2006

Pastor KyamaD-Day Approaches: The time has come for Pastor Kyama to begin work on the church he will be planting among the young adults in July this year. To build up the critical mass of people needed for this work, Pastor Kyama will now begin a Young Adults Fellowship at Mavuno and possibly at the other Nairobi Chapel daughter churches, in addition to leading our own Young Adults Fellowship here at Ngong Rd. Hopefully this way many more young adults will be able to join this work. Please pray for him as he does this. The new church will be located in the center of town.

But this means he will be less available to serve us in other pastoral duties here at Ngong Rd, and will be less visible on Sundays as he must begin attending all the other churches to bring them on board for the July Church launch. Young adults if you can join this work and help,  please do.

New Pastor: This week (17th Jan) Pastor Tim and Jan Ryder will arrive from the US to come work with the Chapel churches. Both served in Kenya as missionaries among the Turkana for 17 years, before going back to the US to serve with their home church (Elmbrook Church). At home Tim served as the Pastor for Inner City Ministries, and Jan as the Children's Pastor. They will be with us for 1 yr.  Tim will now serve Ngong Rd in the outreach ministries to Kibera, and Jan will serve Mamlaka Hill Church as the Children's Pastor. They have come on behalf of Elmbrook to support our partnership and church plant.

If you are an ex-candidate, or college-age, then come join your colleagues as they take this journey in discovering their spiritual gifts. This interesting study is at the small tent at 9.30 -10.15am every Sunday. See you there

Back to School: Its back to school, even for the youth ministry! The bible clubs (GUZA, CROSSROADS and Teens) are on, from 11am -12 noon every Sunday. This year, we shall focus on 'loving God completely, loving ourselves correctly and loving others compassionately'.

Premarital Counseling: Our next premarital class (10 week study spread over 3 months) begins early Feb. Please register now at the info table if you intend to get married within the next 12 months. It is our policy that all couples we unite in marriage must have gone through the class as it lays an important foundation to married life. A class later in the year will be offered next in May.

Foundations I Class: Have you just recently accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior? You need to immediately join our Foundations Class. A new class will begin in Feb, so please register at the Info table. This class is for new believers, and anyone else who may have received Christ a while back, but did not receive follow-up help; or even for those who have been believers for a while, but would like to revisit the basics of our faith again. Welcome. The class will be taught by Pastor Oscar  and will meet on Sundays at 8:30 - 10:30 am.

Worship Choir:  Do you love to sing? Would you like to join the worship team as a member for the choir, and sing on stage with 10 others? We'd like to form a choir of background vocalists to complement the worship leaders by lending body and voice to the singing. Practice will only be once a week (Saturday afternoons). For those who love to sing but haven't yet mastered the art, here's a safe way to polish up and perfect your voice. For those who already have a good singing voice, here's the first step to ministering through your gift . . . your involvement in this humble way will allow us to recognize your gift and give you ministry in upcoming opportunities.

Sunday School: The Sunday school program now begins at 10:30 sharp. Sunday school children please go directly to your class
