Mission to Kajiado : You are invited to join our mission team to Kajiado on 1st to 4th March for a weekend crusade. During that week we will hold crusades at the market place, and conduct a lot of one-on-one evangelism. During the weekend we will hold a concert and show the film "The Passion of the Christ". We conducted a survey last week and there is already a lot of excitement about this in the area. Our host will be PEFA church. If you would like to be a part of this, please sign up at the book table. You can also participate by driving down to Kajiado on Saturday (90 mins drive) and join the days events. Our daughter church, Covenant Chapel, will also be joining us in this outreach.
Business Network : I have often heard it said that when a shilling enters an Asian businessman's hand, it revolves around the Asian business community 8 times before it leaves the community, and that this is what creates wealth. But it is also said that when a shilling enters an African businessman's hand, he takes it directly to the Asian businessman. I'd like to start a new saying "When God blesses a Chapelite with business, that Chapellite blesses other Chapellites with business, and together they create wealth". We'd like to create a business directory of businesses and especially handiworks (caterers, seamstresses, carpenters, etc) run by our members, so that you can hire internally when you have need. This information will be collected at our service survey on Feb 12 (you could also submit a brief business portfolio). We will also have a special focus on that day on creating employment opportunities for those in need.
SS teachers : We have over 250 energetic, active kids in our Sunday school. We'd like to divide the classes to smaller sizes, but will need many more teachers and helping hands. If God has gifted you, and laid a conviction on your heart about ministering to children, or if you have done this before and have skills in teaching little children, please join our Sunday school team. Sign up your name at the Info Desk, or send an SMS to our Children's Pastor at 0724-697765.
Register via SMS instead of Info Desk : Do you need to register your name for something at the info desk? If the crowding is too much, an alternative way to register is to send an SMS to our office phones (0736-544 144 or 0725-650 737) with your name, contact and what you wish to register for. Title the SMS REGISTRATION, and give us as much detail as possible.
Water Baptism : We have a water baptism service coming up on March 19th. If you would like to be baptized, please register your name at the Information Desk today.
Morning Prayers/Devotions : Come and bless the Lord in early morning worship every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 - 8 am here at the tent.
Security work : We are in the process of erecting a perimeter fence around the tent, and installing back-up alarms, floodlights, etc due to the 2 robbery attempts we have here at the tent.
Watch your belongings : Please watch your belongings carefully during the service. Unfortunately while many of us have come here to connect with God, some attend the service looking for opportunity to rob others of their handbags, bibles and any other valuables, therefore watch your belongings. Ladies - if you can, leave your handbags in your car-boot. Note - we have enough security detail to watch the cars and the premises while we are in service. We also have some plainclothes security detail with us in the service.
Impala Club : Impala club has offered a special rate for our members to join the club. We will circulate a brochure next week with details of membership. You have to join under Nairobi Chapel's corporate membership to get the deal.
DVD/CD available : DVD copy of the January sermon "Behold Your God" is now available at the Information Desk. Purchase your copy today. You can also get the same series on CD.
Benevolence : From time to time we have people who visit our services soliciting for financial assistance (especially from our overseas members). If someone approaches you, please forward them to Pastor Vincent or Pastor Irene, who will often be at the Info desk each Sunday after the service. Sometimes such requests are genuine, in which case we want to help; but sometimes they are not. We try and filter the one from the other by interviewing the person extensively, and then giving them a day job in exchange for support. We also issue out food stamps, and grocery stamps for those in need of the same.
Praise God : Please pray for the 30 or so people who indicated receiving Christ as their Savior last week. We did not manage to get all the names, so if you were one of them, and didn’t come forward to meet the pastors after the service, please pass by the Info Desk after today and pick up a free devotional book to help you grow.
Giving in January : Amazingly our giving in January rose from 1.4 m to 2.2 m. Our target is 2.5 m per month, and January with all it’s challenges, shows we can do it. Indeed, with over a thousand people in attendance here, I believe our full capacity is somewhere in the range of 4 m. Thank you to all those of you who were faithful in giving their tithe this month. May God bless you abundantly. Remember, if we all give our tithe faithfully, then we have enough to do the work God has called us to.
Sound Volume : Are you sitting in the right place? For those who like the volume low, please sit on the left side of the church as you walk in. For those who like it high, sit up front, close to the band. And for those who like the sweet stereo spot, sit just in front of the PA in the central aisle.
Foundations 1 : Begins on Sun March 5th at 9 am
