Transitions

Susan WalutilaSusan Walutila : Our pastoral intern Susan has taken a break from her time with us so as to first pursue a job opening in Dubai. Susan has been the sole bread winner in her family, and feels the overwhelming financial burden requires a season when she must first focus on her family obligations. With 2 sisters still in school, and her mother to look after, she has chosen to fill a job opportunity in Dubai for next 3 yrs, so she can see her sisters through school. Thereafter she hopes to continue in her ministry role.

We said Kwaheri to Susan last month, and hope that God will fully meet her need. Dubai can be a dry place spiritually, so please remember her in prayer, and pray that she will be an effective witness to her fellow foreigners (there are many working in the Gulf countries), and also to her Muslim colleagues.
You can contact her at susan_walutila@yahoo.com

Alvan GatituAlvan Gatitu : Alvan, our gifted worship leader, is also moved on to pursue new worship opportunities here and in South Africa. The decision to do so came as a result of a desire to believe the Lord for a new opening in his life. We thank Alvan for his 8 months with us, and wish him all God's blessings on the journey of faith ahead.

You can contact Alvan at alvantitu@yahoo.com.

We are looking for a new person to give us leadership in this ministry. Albo, who is helping us now, will be leaving for the US at the end of this month. Gifted volunteers can help on Sundays, but the weekday tasks of preparation, team management, band rehearsal, prayer, etc ideally requires someone in full time employment. Please pray that God will meet our need and raise up a gifted worship leader for this task soon.

Announcements

Calling All Lawyers : Are you a practicing lawyer and a member of Nairobi Chapel? If so we'd like to involve you in our service on Sept 10th. Please give us your email address and tel contact so we can inform you on the details of how you can participate in the service. Sign up at the Information Desk, or drop a card at same place.

July Giving: Thank you all for your giving in July. A total of 3,015,738/= was collected. 418,212/= was designated to Beacon Of Hope, while the balance goes to finance our 2.5m monthly expenses. God bless all of you for your generosity. We urge you to continue giving sacrificially especially as we have fallen behind schedule of our projected budget. When we have a shortfall the two places that feel the pinch are our outreach ministries, and our reserves for the final relocation and development of our Ngong Road Land (if we had to move today, it would cost us about 10 m to set up again, so we have to build up our reserves in preparation).

Pre-Service Prayer Meeting: The excellent suggestion was made last week that we begin a pre-service prayer time for the church and for Urbana. It's an excellent idea! So starting next Sunday, 13th August, from 9:45 - 10:15am, we’ll have half an hour of concerted prayer for the church. The set-up team begins work at 7:30 am. If you live nearby, and can come help and then go home to change for the service - we would really appreciate your assistance.

For the others of us, please take this opportunity to come spend time in prayer for the work of God. I know your week is often rushed and busy, and prayer gets squeezed out . . . so please take this time to come join others in prayer. Don't let this opportunity pass you by.

August/Sept Series: "Money Matters: Turning God’s blessings into wealth”. It’s a cry we all have - ‘If only I could earn just a little more money, my financial state would be OK’. But the people in the bracket ahead of you are also crying the same prayer . . . so is more the answer? Welcome to our new series where we take a very down to earth honest look at personal financial issues; and show you how to turn your money from being 'your chain of bondage into your key to freedom'. Over these next 8 weeks we'll also look at the 7 secret keys to financial success.

Job Advert: Carlile College is looking for a HIV/AIDS Field Training Officer. Please visit the Info Desk for details of qualifications.

Wedding banns: We wish to announce the marriage of;
Catherine Kamwaro and Frankline Nyamgero on 12th August
Catherine Kamau & Godfrey Kamanu at Safari Park Hotel on 19th August 2006 at 1:30 pm.
Pst. Gowi Odera and Jeniffer Wangeci at Nairobi Chapel on 8th Sept, 2006.

If anyone has any legal reasons why these couples sholdn’t get married, please see any of our pastors
