My Heart christ's home

Continued from last week...

The Living Room: We walked into the living room. This room was intimate and comfortable, with its fireplace, overstuffed chairs, a sofa, and a quiet atmosphere.  He said, "This is indeed a delightful, quiet room. Let us come here often and fellowship together." He promised, "I will be here early every morning. Meet me here, and we will start the day together." I was thrilled.

So morning after morning, I would come to the living room. We would read the Bible together. He would unfold to me the wonder of God's truths. My heart sang as He shared the love and the grace He had toward me. These were wonderful times. However, little by little, under the pressure of my many responsibilities, this time began to be shortened. This was not intentional, you understand. It just happened that way. Finally, because of urgent matters, I began to miss days  of conversation with Jesus.

I remember one morning rushing downstairs, eager to be on my way. I passed the living room and noticed that the door was open. Looking in, I saw a fire in the fireplace and Jesus was sitting there. Oh dear, I thought to myself, "He is my guest. I invited Him in and yet I am neglecting Him."  I hesitantly went in. With downcast glance, I said, "Master, forgive me. Have You been here all these mornings?"

Yes," He said, "I told you I would be here every morning to meet with you. I love you. I have redeemed you at great cost. I value your fellowship. Even if you cannot keep the quiet time for your own sake, do it for mine."

The Rec Room: One evening when I was on my way out with some of my buddies, He asked me if I was going out.  "Yes", I replied.  "Good," He said, "I would like to go with you."  "Oh," I answered awkwardly. "I don't think, Lord Jesus, that You would really enjoy where we are going. Let's go out together tomorrow night to a Bible class, but tonight I have another appointment." "I'm sorry," He said. "I thought that when I came into your home, we were going to do everything together, to be close companions." "Well," I mumbled, slipping out the door, "we will go someplace together tomorrow night.

That evening I felt rotten. What kind of friend was I to Jesus, deliberately leaving Him out of my life, doing things and going places that I knew very well He would not enjoy? When I returned home, there was a light in His room, I went up to talk it over with Him. I said, "Lord, I have learned my lesson. I know now that I can't have a good time without You. From now on, we will do everything together."

Then we went down into the rec room of the house. He transformed it. He brought new friends, new excitement, new joys. Laughter and music have been ringing through the house ever since.

Prayer

Pray for K-Krew ministries

One of our pictures of reality of our Vision 2020 is to “reach one million people with the gospel of Christ”. One of the ministries on the Frontline of that goal is K-Krew who reach out to the youth in this country. Let us pray for them this week:

Along with being on radio and TV, K-Krew continues with their regular high school/ college ministries.  Please continue to pray for this work. This year we launched the high school outreach at Alliance Boys on 1st February. We had an awesome time of worship, fellowship and word. 20 students gave their lives to Christ. Praise God for them and pray for spiritual growth.

87 students at Alliance Boys also signed up for Bible Study. K-Krew and Good News International have developed a Bible Study which uses Christian Music Videos to disciple the youth. It's called a Video Loop, a contemporary attempt to disciple a musically savvy and visually oriented  generation of youth. We will be introducing it in other schools as we go along. Pray that it will bear fruit; also that God will continue to give us more creativity to reach thousands of youth with the gospel.

This weekend 7th and 8th Feb, K-Krew is at Starehe Boys  from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. On Wed Feb 11th we will be at Daystar University with Kanjii Mbugua ministering through music from 7pm. Please pray for these two events. We want to reach  first year students in these places.

Please pray for the entire K-Krew Team us as we continue our high school and college tours this year. We target to reach out to 50,000 students in the high schools and 20,000 students in colleges and campuses. Pray for thousands of commitment to follow Christ. We earnestly desire that the Lord will use us to raise a godly generation of youth.  Pray the God will provide the funds to do this work.

Also pray for our Power Radio signal 91.1 FM. It is currently being tested and soon we will be running regular broadcasts. Right now you can actually Tune in to 91.1 Power Radio and listen to fresh Gospel Music.
