My Heart christ's home

Final part, continued from last week...

The Hall Closet: One day I found Him waiting for me at the door with an arresting look. He said to me, "There is a peculiar odor in the house. Something must be dead around here. I think it is in the hall closet upstairs."  I knew what He was talking about, the small closet up on the hall landing in which I had a few personal things from my old life. Certainly, I did not want Christ to see them. I was even afraid to admit they were there.

Reluctantly, I went up with Him and as we mounted the stairs the odor became stronger and stronger. He pointed to the door. I was angry. That's the only way I can put it. I had given Him access to the library, the dining room, the living room, the workroom, the rec room, and now He was asking me about a little two-by-four closet. I said to myself, "This is too much! I am not going to give Him the key!"

"Well," He said, reading my thoughts, "if you think I'm going to stay up here on the second floor with this smell, you are mistaken. I will go out on the porch." Then I saw Him start down the stairs.

When one comes to know and love Christ, the worst thing that can happen is to sense Him withdrawing His fellowship. I had to give in.

“I’ll give you the key," I said sadly, "but You will have to open the closet and clean it out. I haven't the strength to do it." "Just give me the key and allow me to take care of that closet." With trembling fingers I passed the key to Him. Purposely, He opened the door, took out all the rotting stuff and threw it away. Then He cleaned the closet and painted it, all in a moment's time. Oh, what  release to have that dead thing out of my life!

Transferring the Title:  A thought came to me. "Lord, is there any chance that You would take over the management of the whole house and operate it for me as You did that closet,  to make my life what it ought to be?"

His face lit up as He replied, "I'd love to!  You cannot be a victorious Christian in your own strength. Let me do it through you and for you. That is the way." "But," He added slowly, "I am just a guest. I have no authority to proceed, since the property is not mine." Dropping to my knees, I said, "Lord, You have been a guest and I have been the host. From now on I am going to be the servant. You are going to be the owner and Master."

Running as fast as I could to the strongbox, I took out the title deed to the house describing its assets and liabilities, location and situation. I eagerly signed the house over to Him alone for time and eternity. "Here," I said, "here it is, all that I am and have, forever. Now You run the house. I'll just remain with You as a servant and friend."  Things are different since Jesus Christ has settled down and has made His home in my heart.

Prayer

K-Krew went to Starehe Boys (Starch) last Saturday and Sunday night. We had an awesome time of ministry. 104 students came to the Lord on both days. Praise God for these conversions. Many of them will be joining our Video Loop Bible study. Please pray for them to grow spiritually.

K-krew has many new converts coming to Christ through our outreaches in schools. Our  main challenge is follow up. Though we are encouraging many to join our B.S groups, the students need mentors to regularly bond with them to teach them how to walk as Christians amidst all the challenges of youth. Pray that God will raise mentors within the K-krew team, and for resources to support more team members. If you can help in any way including availability to mentor students, please contact us through the church address.

K-Krew's theme this year is, 'Kaa Si Sisi' (If it is not us, this generation, who else?) Please continue to pray for impact. On 26th Feb - 1st Mar, we will be in Nakuru area, at Egerton university on 27th Feb and on 28th Feb and 1st march, we will go to AIC Morop Girls and Nakuru Boyz.

At Club Xpressions (Youth ministry) we are running Bible studies groups in Lenana Boys School. About 200 boys are participating and they are very excited about the knowing the word of God and the maturity that is happening in their personal lives. We are also doing leadership training for prefects. Our aim is evangelism and also to build up Christ centered leadership in the boys. Please pray for this process. Also we want to find a way to reach out to the whole school which has about 1200 students.

Children’s Ministries is also doing outreach. We have resumed our outreach at Jamhuri Primary school. The school authorities allows us to have a teaching opportunity every Wednesday morning, where are teaching our F.A.I.T.H. values. FAITH stands for Firm foundation in the word, Active devotional life, Involved in their community, Transformed in character and a Heart for missions. Pray that God will use us to build a truly biblical foundation in the children. Pray also for volunteers for this ministry
