Vamos Maputo! Nairobi Chapel Interns, 2008 have a wonderful opportunity to go and preach the gospel to the people of Maputo in Mozambique from Oct 24 to Nov 17th. Please stop at our desk and find out how you can be a part of this great venture.  Vamos is the Portuguese word  for “Let’s go!”

Baptism Class : Next baptism class will run in November, followed by the Baptism ceremony in early December. The actual  dates for the class will be confirmed soon. If you have recently received Christ as your savior, or have never been baptized and would like to be, please register your name at the Info Desk today.

Prayer service
Welcome to our power packed Prayer Service every Sunday from 9.00 to 10.15am here at the tent. This month we shall be praying for our families,  guided by Psalm139 and our current sermon series . Here are the themes for each Sunday:

New Believers: Have you received Christ recently? Or would you like to grow in your walk with Christ? Join a class  and let us explore together what it means to follow Christ. Our next discipleship class starts on Oct 5th. Please sign up at the Info desk.

Crossroad Parents: Meet every 2nd Saturday of the month, next meeting is on 13th September ‘08 at the Children’s tent from 8-10am. For those of you that have 13 year olds or your child is in Class 8 kindly sign them up at the Info Desk for the crossroads class (if you have not already done so) that takes place every Sunday from 11:00am

Prayer

Thanksgiving
Mrs. Mungai has been under asthma treatment for some time. Give thanks to the Lord for guiding the doctors who found out that she is actually not asthmatic after all. She is now out of hospital and recovering well while she is on her leave. 

Three young men; Simon, Nicholas & Vincent  who are some of our hands-on-men at the site, gave their  lives to Christ last weekend(Eph 6:6-7). Rejoice with them about their new faith and pray for spiritual growth.

Pray comfort and compassion (Isa.50:3) over Christine Wambui whose father passed on and was  then followed closely by paternal  grandmother last week. Loise Munene also lost her father, through a delicate brain operation. The family  must offset a huge hospital bill. Pray for finances.
Mike & Mildred Anami lost a three day old baby girl this week. If you know any of these members of our church who have been bereaved, please make a  visit and be with them at this difficult season of their lives.

Our children's ministry has been trusting God for godly and committed men to volunteer in Sunday school, to teach children and also to support their outreach department. Pray with them and also visit with them for more information.

Our fellow Kenyans in the arid northern and some coastal regions of Kenya are experiencing tough season of drought and famine. Pray for divine intervention so they can have food for their families and livestock.
