Enter the Lions: "Men By Design"

Back in the days of Mamlaka, there was a men’s ministry called Men@wak, remember it? It was a vibrant fellowship of the men of Nairobi Chapel, where they would meet regularly, interact, study scripture, network, eat nyama choma, form accountability groups, advance the vision of the church and so on and so forth. Those were the days! Several men who were part of that ministry realized they didn’t have to reminisce over the good ol’ days.  They decided to awaken the sleeping lion, and in true spirit of rebranding they called by a new name, “M.E.N By Design”.

M.E.N By Design” is a gathering of the men of Nairobi Chapel who are serious about their commitment to God, passionate about their marriages, families and their market places. They realized that there is a huge kickback when men to come together to pray, study the word and jointly harness the power that God has put in them as men. M.E.N! is actually an acronym signifying our three fold purpose, namely  Mission, Enterprise, Nurture.

Mission: Calling men to personal spiritual growth – getting men to commit to making visible, tangible growth towards spiritual maturity with openness and accountability to each other.
Enterprise: Calling men to reclaim the market-place with Christian and Godly values in the business community.

Nurture: Calling men to responsibility - getting men to renew commitment to their families, uphold biblical values and dive spiritual leadership to their families, for positive growth in the home setting.

In pursuit of these 3 purposes we will endeavor to create a fellowship that will minister to the men, provide suitable material for family bible study and equip the men to fulfill these purposes for God in this generation. This will glorify God, enable our wives and marriages to flourish, give the children a secure environment in which they can grow up and prosper our businesses. The Men will live By Design and not from crisis to crisis.

Join us in this wonderful journey to be everything that God created us to be. We will change ourselves, our marriages, our families, our businesses, communities, our country and finally, change the world.

Prayer

The Call: Join Thousands upon thousands of Kenyans gathered in solemn prayer and worship at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday 6th Dec, from 9am. The call as a prayer movement has been done iin other parts of the world but is in Kenya for the very first time.

Pray for the many men in our congregation who own businesses, that they flourish as they operate in God’s favour and guidance. Pray that God will give men wisdom to all our men in some of the challenging or tempting circumstances they may find themselves in the market place. Pray also for corporate leaders, that they will be a witness for Christ in their positions. Pray that all men will have wisdom to make the right choices that honor God.

Pray that our men would take up their roles within the homes, that they would provide leadership in prayer and study of the word of God. Pray that God will use  men to strengthen their families and bring up godly  children. Pray also for families that may be hurting because the men are absent, that God would provide other support structures for those.  Pray also that God would raise up the men of Nairobi chapel to uphold the vision and mission of this church.

Pray for families in this holiday season, children have closed school and there may be many temptations. Pray for wisdom for parents, especially for fathers. Also ask for protection from attacks of the evil one.

Pray about the escalating prices of maize flour and other essential commodities. Pray for wisdom and insight for the Government officials as they work towards an urgently needed intervention.

Two young people got saved at the youth service last Sunday. Pray that they would immerse themselves in the Word so as to mature in their faith.
