Logos Christian School

Logos School is a dream come true, an amazing story of faith and passion, struggle and challenge, determination and courage. Back in 1999 as the Elders of Nairobi Chapel prayed for a vision for the church in the new millennium, the Lord laid it on their hearts to establish institutions that would have lasting and long term impact on society. The best way to accomplish this vision would be to raise a generation nurtured from childhood with the values they hoped to see in society. It would have to be a school, the one place where children can be consistently, significantly and deliberately shaped.

In 2000, a Board of brilliant volunteers was commissioned and charged with the task of beginning a school. Though they had busy careers, they  poured their minds, prayers and energy into laying a foundation for a distinctly Christian education, a culture and ethos of running the school, a mission, a budget, staffing, curriculum, uniforms, premises, marketing, funding… everything to make it work.  It was an enormous task with many set backs but the dream of raising a godly generation kept them going.

It was hoped the school would be situated on our Jamhuri property. When it became apparent that would not be possible for a while, new premises were found.  It was with much joy that we finally opened the Logos Kindergarten along Chaka Road near Yaya Center on Sept 9, 2002. The school was headed by Leanne Wohoro who has since relocated with her family to Australia. The name Logos was chosen to signify the centrality of the word of God. Within a short time demand for space grew and the school was double streamed. Logos has since grown into a primary school and is due to sit its first KCPE candidates in another year. The primary school is situated  on Kolobot Drive off Arboretum Drive.

At the kindergarten we use the Montessori Method of teaching and learning. Children learn and are examined at an individualised pace, and with a large and varied number of learning materials. At the primary school level, children learn using a National 8-4-4 curriculum, creatively modified to create suit a biblical foundation. They learn  discerningly and critically in order to know and acknowledge God in all of life and find their God-given potential and purpose.  We also emphasize and test character development, plus other  skills and gifts such as art, drama, sport, music and technical areas.

Logos children, teachers  and parents love their school. It is a joyful, bright, cheerful and warm to be. If you dream of true greatness for your child, the Logos is the place to enrol them.  For more information please contact Logos Christian School:  Email: info@logos.ac.ke; Website: www.logos.ac.ke

Prayer

The Call
It's big, it's massive, it's thousands upon thousands gathered in solemn prayer and worship. It is not entertainment, not a conference, and not a festival. It is a solmen prayer assembly. The Call as a prayer movement has been done in other parts of the world. It is being held for the very first time in Africa, in Kenya. It is to call those who are desperate for revival to seek the face of the Lord on behalf of our nation, the church, the kingdom of God. Please block out Saturday the 6th of Dec as a very special day to encounter God and pray for this Nation. Time, 9 -4pm. Venue: The Nyayo Stadium.  In the meantime, please be in prayer for the logistical details of organising such a huge event. www.thecall.co.ke

Our interns returned this week from Maputo, safe and sound and energised to serve the Lord. Thank you to all of you who prayed and supported them. Pray for the remaining time of their internship that it will be fulfilling and rewarding. Pray for guidance for their future endeavours beyond internship.

Plans are well under way for the ROPES camp, for our boys and girls aged 13 going 14. The camps will be held separately. Please pray for the team putting it all together that all details will fall in place; there will be enough counsellors for both camps; for the boys and girls to have a significant time of transition into teenage, that key convictions will be developed during this camps. Pray also for protection from sickness and accidents.

K-Krew, the ministry that partners with our youth ministry to do high school outreaches, who also have a radio show on Hope FM every Saturday night, plan to launch a gospel radio station, Kumbamba Radio by 1st December. They have a station. They are in the process of acquiring equipment. Pray that they will have a great launch, that they have a far reaching effect to minister to youth with the gospel of Christ in creative ways.

We are still following up the matter our land. Please do not tire to pray for breakthrough for the legal team that was chosen to resolve the matter. Pray for grace and guidance as they deal with the civic authorities.
