Meet K-Krew

Can you believe that we only have 118 days to go to our September 2nd relocation day?  However, before we see the reality of our Promised Land, we have  much that needs to happen.
·           Kshs. 28M to raise!
·           Evangelistic outreaches to the communities around our property!
·           6 acres of land to clear, uproot stumps and level out!
·           10,500 square meters of cabro works to lay down!
·           100 concrete posts to sink in for fencing!
·           2 mega tents to be manufactured and shipped in by June!
·           20 Sunday School classrooms to build!
·           Get clearance and full electrical service from KPLC!
·           Plan and execute an amazing First Service on Sept 2nd service for 5000 people…

We have faith that we can and we will move this mountain, for it is not by power, not by might but by the Spirit of the Lord! We as a congregation are in a season where God wants to move and use us in a phenomenal way in this country and beyond our borders. The facilities on our land are an important vehicle to carry out our God-given mandate and vision. For this, we are calling you to pray even more than you have ever done before. We do not want to lean on our own understanding. God has called us to acknowledge Him in everything so that He may make our paths straight.

How can you do this?
·           Join us on Sundays at 9.30am for prayer at the Karibu Tent. We will have a similar prayer gathering for the children at the same time every Sunday in a separate tent – even from mouths of children, God ordains praise!
·           We are calling each family to set aside Monday evenings as a time to pray together for our church in your homes. Prayer through each page of your bulletin.
·           We have set aside every Tuesday 5.30pm to 6.30pm as a time of corporate prayer at the tent. This prayer time is for the whole church, including children and teens.
·           We are asking each believer to set aside one day every week to pray and fast over the next 5months. We would like to cover all the 118 days in prayer. Please sign up for this at the Relocation Tent.
·           We are asking every Ekklesia group to spend at least half an hour of their meeting time in prayer for the church.
·           We will also have a monthly prayer meeting at our new property every second Saturday of the month from 9am – 12am. We had a great meeting last month; join us on May 12th for another extended and concerted time of prayer.
·           August 11th – 31st is set for a 21 day fast period that will culminate in a thanksgiving prayer service on the land on September 1st (9am – 12pm).

We have a great task ahead of us but as your leaders, we are confident that TOGETHER we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength! (Philippians 4:13)

Pastoral Corner

Pastoral Care. Do you know of a member who has been bereaved recently, is in hospital, or has gone through trauma? Please, please call our office on 6752346/0725650737 or call Rose Muiu on 0722317961 to let us know. We want to care for our members well, but have no other way of knowing unless someone informs us. Once we know we do a great job at responding and being at their side . . . but only if someone let's us know first. So  if you have the news, take it upon yourself to alert us immediately.

Bereaved… John and Agnes Githiaka lost their two week old baby – Israel two weeks ago. Thank God for the precious gift that baby Israel was and pray for grace and comfort for his grieving parents.

Recovering… Thank God for the following people who have been unwell but are steadily recovering.
Brennan – one of our Sunday School boys, is now home from hospital.
Mrs. Roselyn Ngorok – still under medication from a bacterial infection.
Wachuka Ngure’s daughter, Njoki, was discharged from hospital last week and is much better after a severe tonsillitis infection.

Pray for good health for all especially now as we get into the cold rainy season.

Prayer Corner

God is moving to enable us to be on the move! We have several items to thank God about and continue to pray about, even as we remember that we serve a God who is able to do the impossible!

Thank God for Charles Kariuki (who is managing the relocation project) and Anthony Mutahi (our architect). These men are doing an excellent job! Pray for wisdom, strength, joy and favor as they serve in their respective capacities...

Praise God for the members of our congregation who have given in kind towards the relocation.  One has offered to provide all the material we need for our electrical wiring; one has offered to print our bulletins for 3 months; and another has given us their earth-moving equipment at a subsidized rate. Their generosity and giving has resulted in substantial savings.

We praise God that we will soon be able to connect water to the land. The water company has chosen to consider our application for water as an upgrade of the existing water connection which will enable us to have an adequate water supply, especially since constructions will begin soon.

We are hoping to have the tents in by the end of June 2007. Please pray that the manufacturers will be able to deliver quickly and still maintain high quality. On receiving the tents, we will need to pay Ksh. 4.6 million (3 million for duty & 1.6 million for VAT). Pray for favor with Customs and Kenya Revenue Authority that they would waive this amount.

On 28th April 2007, we had our first work day on the land.  Praise God for the 50 youth who showed up and helped the flower vendors who had encroached on our land move their flowers.  Thank God for the wonderful time the youth had and the good relationship we now have with the flower vendors (if you are looking to buy flowers/plants for your home, please consider buying from these flower vendors).
