KARIBU SANA PASTOR FAITH MUGERA

Faith Mugera is not new to us, she's the charming lady "who leads services at the tent". She was also the one who organized the excellent interview and presentations made by Tumaini Kwa Watoto, Cheryl's Children's and TULIP Ministries in December last year.

Faith first joined the Chapel during her university years. She fondly remembers the first service where the worship team, which she was a part, was bigger than the congregation! After graduation from university she joined the staff as an intern. If you've ever wanted go down memory lane, then catch Faith for a trip.

While Faith was volunteering at the Nyumbani Home she realized how orphanages and other charitable institutions struggle to survive. This deeply concerned her and she felt God called her to respond by helping out such institutions through fundraising and leadership management.

To equip herself for this calling, she went to study at Eastern College, Philadelphia, US, for an MBA in project management, grant proposal writing and fundraising. She then worked in Baltimore for several years with the Catholic Relief Services, US. She relocated back home 2 years ago.

Faith joins our staff in answer to prayer that the Lord would show us how to be a blessing to the less fortunate in our community. She is now responsible to oversee, establish and resource (both locally and internationally) our ministries to the many underprivileged around us. We expect that once we move to the Jamhuri property, we will see a lot more people coming to us for help because of our proximity to several low income settlement areas.

We couldn't have a more competent and passionate person than Faith to give us leadership in this area. Her bubbly personality and experience is a huge plus to this ministry and we want to wish her great success and all God's blessing in this work.

Faith is married to Patrick Mugera. Together they are the proud parents of Munene (3 yrs) and Muiruri (9 months), two gorgeous and super energetic boys.

Pastoral Corner

Pastoral Care. Do you know of a member who has been bereaved recently, is in hospital, or has gone through trauma? Please, please call our office on 6752346/0725650737 or call Rose Muiu on 0722317961 to let us know. We want to care for our members well, but have no other way of knowing unless someone informs us. Once we know we do a great job at responding and being at their side . . . but only if someone let's us know first. So  if you have the news, take it upon yourself to alert us immediately.

Bereaved....
Manasseh and Tweety Uzele lost their older brother Enock Uzele on Wednesday. Meetings began yesterday and will continue every evening at their Mum's home at AIC Ziwani church compound.

Unwell….
Pastor Jan Ryder has been unwell but is doing better now. Pray for a full recovery.
Sarah, Rose Weru's daughter, has been ill with pneumonia but is doing much better now.

Congratulations to the new parents...
Baby girl, Abigail Lee, born to Richard and Joy Lee two weeks ago. Baby boy, Israel Kithiaka, born to John and Agnes Kithiaka on Monday.

Prayer Corner

Thank God for all those who made pledges last Sunday towards raising the 30 million shillings we need for the relocation. Ask the Lord to bless them so that they will be able to meet their commitment. Pray also for the many who are still considering their pledges so that they will take bold steps of faith to give financially towards the relocation. Pray for a breakthrough in raising the 30 million we need to relocate in the next 5 months.
Pray for the technical team facilitating the move to our Jamhuri property. The team needs wisdom as they make decisions on where to put up the tents, parking, Sunday school classes, etc. Praise the Lord that we have found a "Site Manager" to oversee this fast paced work as we head for the first service on Sept 2nd.
Pray that the Lord would open doors for the many among us that are looking for jobs. The economy is growing, but there are still many in need. Pray that the Lord would use you in some way to answer someone's need.
Our interns are in Garissa for a 10 days mission. This is a first in a series of missions they will undertake in the course of their internship. Pray that the Lord would use them mightily to preach the gospel in Garissa, that many would come to Christ through their ministry. Ask the Lord to protect them and that this time out will be a time of growth in their faith and ability to minister to others.
